Did you know that coffee beans are actually the seeds from a coffee cherry, and the cherry is grown on a tree that can become over 9 feet tall? I wish I could say I was a coffee connoisseur, but I’m not. I’m just an addict with an obsession for cute coffee shops. Auntie’s Deli in Eaton Rapids fits that bill.
Cute and Cozy
Usually, you can find me enjoying my daily cup of joy on our porch in the mornings before I leave for work. Once a week, however, I swing into Auntie’s on my way out of town and pick up a coffee to go. When walking into the corner cafe, you’ll notice the antique decor and likely a table full of regulars. The same people are there every time I stop in, enjoying hot tea, pie and other beverages. I’m always met with at least three “Good morning!” greetings and “Beautiful day, isn’t it?” It’s hard not to have a good start to the day after you stop here.
I don’t order anything fancy, just a coffee cup to go with a bit of honey. Auntie’s has their own coffee bar that you can fill your cup with.
I’m usually in and out quickly to head to work, but this is the kind of place you can sit for hours and not notice time has flown by. I’d recommend stopping in if you’re ever heading down M-99. If coffee isn’t your thing, don’t worry. The home-made baked goods and pies are worth checking out as well. You can even order one for your next family gathering and avoid slaving the day away in the kitchen.
Check out Auntie’s when you get a chance. Sit and stay a while catching up with an old friend. Or, grab a cup to go and take a walk on the island. You won’t regret it, just watch for goose poo! 🙂
