Brunch is meant to be spent with your best girlfriends. On my list of favorite activities, brunch is hard to beat. Add a couple of my closest friends, good conversations, and a good cup of coffee and you have all the ingredients for bliss. I love chatting with my girls on a Sunday morning with a hot beverage, or a bloody mary or mimosa, and starting the last day of the weekend on a high note. I find that Monday’s are easier to face when I had bomb eggs benedict with great company the day before.

This week two of my closest friends and I met for Sunday brunch at Capital Vine in Lansing near the Eastwood Town Center. We had a delicious and joyful experience and have added this place to our list of favorites to return to. I was lucky enough to have great people with me who certainly contributed to the excellent experience, but I think I would have enjoyed it for the reasons below no matter who I was with.

Superb Customer Service

We were greeted at the door with welcoming smiles and lead to our seats. Our table was in an open room with lots of natural light at a beautiful table with a white table-cloth and sweet vase. Our server at Capital Vine was kind, courteous and helpful and our water glasses never went empty. We connected over the love of French Press coffee. Every need was met, every question answered and they were as efficient as a well oiled machine.

Boss Bloody Mary Bar

Hello, habanero cheese. Drink in these options to build your bloody in the picture below. Drool. If bloody marys aren’t your thing they do have a plethora of coffee beverages and mimosa’s. I’ll have one of each, please.

The Food

If you are looking to treat yourself, order the Maine Lobster Omelette. It was divine.

There are a variety of menu items available. We tried the Eggs Benedict, the prime rib omelet and the scrambled eggs as well, all delicious. They have a variety of breakfast options available to meet any breakfast craving, including “House Pop Tarts” and “Breakfast Breads.”

The Experience

Compared to an average breakfast joint it is a bit pricey, but this is not an average place. You truly get what you pay for, and it is worth every penny. The food and drinks only improve the wonderful experience that the customer service and indulgent atmosphere create. The moment you arrive you are welcomed and accommodated to.

If you want to grab a hot breakfast and then get going, this is not the place. I love those restaurants too, and they have their own place in my life. Capital Vine is a place to go if you want to just relax and be taken care of while you enjoy time spent with the people you love on a Sunday. Go with your friends or your family. Stay a while. Have a drink. Laugh. Eat delicious food. Treat yourself. Enjoy the experience.
